    Description

    Good vintage condition. Some fine surface scratches, flea bites on the edges of the cut glass, and patina. Shank has been cut. This antique, early art deco/late Edwardian ring features magnificent silver workmanship and design.
    Ostby and Barton is a Rhode Island jeweler renowned for its high quality metal designs.  The founder, Engelhart Cornelius Ostby, traveled with his daughter Helene from France to the U.S. on the ill-fated Titanic.  Helene survived; he did not.  His rings were highly popular at the time of his death.  Helene, her brother, and niece took over Ostby & Barton, which continued to produced jewelry until the 1950s.
