    Antique Georgian c1820 Large Floral Sheffield Fused Silver Fruit Basket
    Presented is a Georgian, Sheffield fused silver plate basket made during the first quarter of the 19th century. This English silver basket was most likely made right around 1820. The basket is raised on a foot rim and the handle is tight to the body and holds upright on its own. The whole piece is finely hand chased with flowers and leaves over a stippled background the handle and rim have raised, applied silver plate scrolls, flowers and leaves. There is a small sterling silver wrapping along the edge of the rim. The center of the basket has an old, original monogram of the initials SMP.
    This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is minor wear to the silver plating on some of the high points but there are no other flaws and no repairs.
    The basket measures 12 inches in diameter and is 10 inches tall with the handle upright.
